Meet The Band

Mind's I performing in February 2017 at T. Panei Studio

Mind’s I was a four-piece band from the small city of Butler in Western Pennsylvania. The band was active primarily between 1996 and 2020, and has six official releases to their credit: Where The Secret Lies (1998 – AFM Records), Fearless of Ever (1999 – Self-released), Mighty Shoves and Tiny Pushes (2000 Onoma Records), Metamorphosis (2002 Mind’s I / CD Baby), Train Wreck (2010 – Mind’s I / CD Baby), and the special expanded edition re-release of their debut album entitled Back Catalog (2020 – Mind’s I / CD Baby). During their active period, the band toured throughout the Northeast and into the Midwest, with featured appearances in the Atlantic City Beach Festival, the Winnetka Park (suburban Chicago) Independence Day Celebration, and countless festivals and other marquee events in the Pittsburgh region. Whether they were playing the 23,000-person capacity Star Lake Pavillon, the 700-person capacity Graffiti Showcase, or in a friend’s living room for an audience of 4, Mind’s I had a reputation for always bringing the energy and excitement.  Over the course of their career they were honored to have shared the stage with a variety of immensely talented musicians including Bret Michaels (of Poison), The Clarks, Donnie Iris, The Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet, Iron Butterfly, Kentucky Headhunters, Little Anthony and the Imperials, and many others.

The final lineup consisted of Jason Anthony (drums), Scott Herbst (bass, vocals), Jamie Hook (guitar, vocals) and Tom Panei (vocals, acoustic guitar). Other band alumni include Chris Compton (drums), Geno Fratto (drums), Chad Goldbach (bass), Greg Muiter (guitar and vocals), D.J. Paga (guitar), and Willi Stolz (harmonica, vocals, guitar)
